In response to an identified need for comprehensive riparian habitat mapping of the Cottonwood Creek watershed, AFRP requests submission of proposals for riparian habitat mapping and veg classification of the Cottonwood Creek Watershed, particularly in the areas of the foothills and the valley floor portions of the watershed. Cottonwood Creek is a large tributary of the Sacramento River and lies in Tehama and Shasta Counties. The goal of the mapping study is to inventory and characterize riparian community types, document species composition and distribution, and monitor for the presence of non-native invasive species within the Cottonwood Creek watershed.
